Crystal Lake Park District Nature Center - Butterfly House
The Butterfly House
The Butterfly House at the Nature Center was first opened in 2002 and it continues to be a popular attraction. Each summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, this seasonal exhibit allows visitors to walk among live butterflies in this beautiful addition. As you share this space with these fascinating creatures, we encourage you to take advantage of our knowledgeable staff and learn all that you can about the butterflies that live in our area. This exhibit is constantly changing, with new butterflies being released in to the house on a regular basis we encourage you to visit often.
Don’t just visit during the summer. The Butterfly House remains open, even after the butterflies are gone. Our Button Quail stay with us all year and never fail to entertain. Our staff are always happy to take you in and answer all of your questions.
Admission to the Butterfly House is free; however a suggested donation of $1 per person is appreciated.
