Barlina House Preschool Monthly Letter

Dear Parents:

It is hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end.  The classrooms continue to be very busy with the children continuing to develop and refine their skills.   The teachers are in the process of completing the children’s spring progress reports which will be sent home near the middle of this month.  If you would like to discuss your child’s progress/development with the teacher, please feel free to contact us to set up a time and date.

 

We will have our last fire drill this month and also a practice tornado drill.  Please be sure to discuss with your child what to do in case of a fire or severe weather.

 

Please remember to join us for our special Mom’s Day event on May 10 or May 11.  Class times will be shortened for this event.  The morning classes will meet from 9:00 until 10:30, and the afternoon classes from 12:45 until 2:15.  A grandmother, aunt, friend or significant other is welcome to attend if you have a schedule conflict.

 

On Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24, during normal class times, we will be having our Olympic Days outside, weather permitting.  Several physical stations will be set up for the children to rotate through.  Please be sure your child wears gym shoes for this event.  Also, bug spray and/or sunscreen must be applied at home if desired.  We will start this event with a little parade around the playground in Olympic style.   You are welcome to park and wave at our athletes during the parade.  The children will first enter their classrooms then go back outdoors for the parade and games to begin.  At the end of the day, we will all enjoy a special treat - Ice Cream Sundaes!  

 

Our Preschool Family Picnic will be held on Friday, May 25, at Main Beach from 10:00am until 1:00pm.  The picnic is for ALL the classes!  Further information will be sent home at a later date.
