The St. Lucia celebration represents one of the foremost cultural tradition in Sweden. Lucia is a bearer of light in the dark Swedish winters. The historic Colonel Palmer House with Victorian parlors is the perfect setting to celebrate this festive occasion. Tables of four can accommodate you and three of your guests. Each participant must be registered separately.  Advance registration is required. Register online at or in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Admin. Office, 1 E. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.

The Colonel Palmer House was built c.1858 by settlers Gustavus and Henrietta Palmer. Located on its original site, the home was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Currently the home is maintained by the Crystal Lake Park District and is home to the Crystal Lake Historical Society.
